Three project demonstrations have been organized by the project participants and three airports (Athens – ATH, Zagreb – ZAG, SEA Milano – MXP) as hybrid – i.e. physical and virtual – events. The first of three SATIE demonstrations was carried out on the 11th of June, 2021 at the Athens International Airport (AIA) premises in Spata, Attica, Greece (see Figure 1) . The demonstration event was attended by over 60 participants. The second SATIE online demonstration event took place at the Zagreb Airport on 27th of July, 2021. More than 50 participants were connected through online platform, and took part in the demonstration, watching video broadcast from on-site cameras. The demonstrated scenario involved the Baggage Handling System (BHS) and the baggage registration service (see Figure 2). The third SATIE demonstration event was carried out on the 8th of September 2021 at the Milan Malpensa International Airport (MXP) premises in Lombardy, Italy. The demonstration event took place in Malpensa’s Crisis Room (see Figure 3) and was attended by over 60 participants. SEA had sufficient space to welcome 11 people to follow the event in person while the remaining participants connected online.
Demonstrations included previously pre-recorded recorded videos, streaming live-performance scenario demonstrations, attack simulations and response of the SATIE Toolkit. Interviews and questionnaires that followed the event presented very useful feedback, including positive reinforcement and encouragement. The SATIE Solution was considered a significant improvement compared to current security-monitoring systems, was rated as innovative and an excellent way to monitor and raise security alerts with good usability. It was agreed that the SATIE Solution provides all relevant information and enables faster detection of both cyber and physical threats.
